Jantar Mantar, Jaipur

The Cosmic Clock at jantar mantar
“Sonic mandala” program

a monumental acoustic ring with sound satellites

A 500 meters diameter acoustic ring encircles the site. Three “sonic satellites” hanging between heaven and earth diffuse their own musical score.

- On the main instrument Samrat Yantra the sound installation produce the effect of a spectacular “sound pyramid”.
- A musical compass rose encircles the Disha Yantra
- Sounds gushing out of the central instrument Jai Prakash Yantra's two hemispheres, evoke musical spheres.

The Sonic Mandala is a singular tourist attraction for the Jantar Mantar. This program will be played daily: a sound program during the day and a Sound & Light by evening.

This cultural and tourist initiative, conceived by the Swiss composer Dominique Barthassat and produced by his own company ALCOREO, has obtained the authorisation from the Rajasthan government (India).
