The Sound Architecture
Dominique Barthassat's specific approach of Sound Architecture was inaugurated during the World Internet Days at TELECOM '99 (Geneva).
The Sound Architecture is a new way to experience sounds. Its principle is the same as the IMAX® for image. The sounds are spread into the 6 directions, immersing the listener into a 360° acoustic field. This innovative approach is a complete turn over from the traditional frontal acoustic diffusion, which tends to limit our perceptive field.
As a technological challenge, the Sound Architecture deals with the complexity of the diffusion of a Circular musical score in a huge space and at different scales.
The Circular musical Scores
The construction of the Circular musical scores enhances new poetical dimensions connected to the new tendencies of the sound design and the sound spatialization.
This spatial orchestration with different layers of sound and musical textures induces a tactical perception of the acoustic atmosphere like a fresco.
Meeting point between tradition and innovation, the Cicular musical scores transmitted by the Cosmic Clock can interact with a soloist, an instrumental group or a symphonic orchestra blending together different musical styles.
